About the Artist

Hailed as the ‘People’s choice’ by the late art critic Daniel Farson, the beautiful paintings by Andrew White continue to inspire collectors and art lovers throughout the world today. Born in Lincolnshire in 1968, a childhood interest eventually led to a professional career after graduating from the Slade School in 1991. Since then Andrew has exhibited work throughout Britain receiving extensive nation-wide media coverage, and working to great critical acclaim.

The wide range of Andrew’s present repertoire enhances this rare and gifted talent. Whether drawing or sculpting, painting or printmaking, Andrew’s contribution to the art world is both diverse and extraordinarily rich. Combining his own style with the methods employed by the Old Masters, and pre-Raphaelite painters, Andrew skilfully translates forgotten techniques, such as ‘glazing’, into a modern context. In much of his work there exists a timeless quality which derives from this fusion of eras. Through the soft glowing surfaces and harmony of composition Andrew’s work conveys an aura and haunting atmosphere that bring reflections of the past into the present. Owing much to his local upbringing in rural England Andrew continues to live and work in Lincolnshire with his wife Rachel and two children. He exhibits in Lancashire, the East Midlands, Cornwall, and London
